The air and water temperatures remain same throughout the year while the rainy season lasts from April to June. Mafia Marine National Park is known as a pearl of the Indian Ocean, popular for fishing and diving. Marine life is abundant with many fish and coral due to the protection of the Mafia Island Marine Park.
The Mafia Marine National Park is located between the island of Mafia and the delta of the Rufiji River. The combined influence of the river and the sea have created an exceptionally rich environment for its biodiversity. It is the best place to visit after your safari or the place to go and just relax for a few days far away from everything. We can arrange a beach extension to Mafia after your safari, or combine a short safari in Selous Game Reserve (for two to three nights) with some beach days on Mafia island.
