Savannah Explorers offers you a safari that will allow you to follow the Great Migration between Serengeti and Ngorongoro, where enormous herds of herbivores, followed by the great raiders, move toward more favorable climates. You will see all these experiences courtesy of Savannah Explorers, an Italian tour operator based in Arusha.

Accommodations

Day 1 - Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to Karatu village

After your arrival at Kilimanjaro's airport there will be the Savannah Explorers guide waiting for you to take you to Karatu where you will be able to rest in Hotel. On the way we can stop at Mto wa Mbu village for a short walk.

Day 2 - Karatu - Ndutu

We immediately start our trip after breakfast to cross the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the direction of Ndutu area. Between December and February/March, we will be able to see the Great Migration herds. It is an unique experience that shows the animals following the rains during a long and dangerous trip to survive the drought.

Day 3 - Ndutu

We will spend the day observing the animals of Nduto area. Be ready with your cameras because it will be a funny day!

Day 4 and 5 - Serengeti National Park

After the visit of Nduto area, we will be directed toward the Serengeti National Park where we will spend two days exploring it. The Serengeti National Park is the most famous park in Tanzania, known in all over the world for its boundless lowlands, the migration of the wildebeests, the pride of lions, and the other raiders, such as hyenas, cheetahs, leopards, jackals and crocodiles. The name “Serengeti” means “Endless Plain,” which is evident based on the environment.

Day 6 - From Serengeti to Ngorongoro

For the last time, we will cross the Serengeti National Park to go towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This is one of the most evocative landscapes in the world where we can admire the dormant volcano and the nature that surrounds it. In the park, it will be possible to see the "Big Five": elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards and rhinos. However, you should pay attention to the 30,000 animals and a great variety of birds in that area.

Day 7 – Ngorongoro crater

In the early morning, we will proceed to the Ngorongoro Crater for photo opportunities. This is of one of the most evocative craters in the world where we can admire the dormant volcano and the nature that surrounds it. In the park, it will be possible to see the "Big Five": elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards, and rhinos. However, you should pay attention to the 30,000 animals and a great variety of birds in that area.

Day 8 - Arusha-Kilimanjaro Airport

After having spent a week admiring the meaningful Great Migration, it is time for the moment to come back to home. However, before that, you could spend some time to visit Arusha for shopping in the local shops. If you want to spend some additional time with Savannah Explorers, you could purchase a Beach Extension for Zanzibar islands.
